Well I wish I had better news!! But I am sure I everything will be fine. Turns out my limping wasn't a muscle strain. My mom took me to my breeders vet in North Ridgeville where they discovered that I have UAP or ununited Anconeal process'. And one of them has broken off and is floating around my joint! My Dr. said he can't believe I didn't throw to the ground and yelp out in pain! They are going to go in, today actually, and surgically remove the little process things. I should be pretty darn comfortable afterwards with just some earlier than normal arthritis. Mom said that I won't be able to do agility anymore though. Not because I can't, but because it would make the arthritis come faster if we do it competitively. But I have so many other things to do! My modeling and therapy careers won't be a problem, and of course, my number one job of taking care of mommy will still be a breeze!!!! Wish me luck today! I am not going to be fond of being away from mom or home.....I didn't like getting the xrays done....but....I want mom to be proud so I will be as good as I possibly can and I know she will be there when I am ready to go home!
Oh I am soo excited! I got to do my first therapy dog visit last wednesday at a nursing home in Ashland and everyone treated me so nicely! Even the resident dog!!! She ruffled her coat, strolled around me and walked away! I made sure I showed her proper respect. Mom said because it is her home and we are visiters! I will have some video later! I also went to the vet because of my sore leg. He said it was a strain and gave me some pills that I really don't care for. Then I got worse and had to go for xrays. That meant mom left me at the vet!!!!! I was good and patiently waited, although, they said I could have behaved better on the xray table. NO FRACTURES! Yay! Then I went to agility and had to stay back and watch while mom played with Riot's (my boyfriend) sister! It was good for mom. I love her, but she needs to work on her handling skills. Well until next time! Love ya, Gertie
I am so sad! I have to go to the vet tomorrow! Usually when I go it's because we are visiting the great people at Mapleton Vet or saying hi to my awesome vet....but tomorrow I am having my paw looked at. I have been limping since agility last week. Mom says it's time. I ran so hard last week into the tunnel that I collapsed it in several feet! Even Amanda was impressed!! Plus I hit another obstacle pretty hard...can't remember which one though. Mom said my adrenalin was up so I probably didn't know I hurt myself til the next day. Wish me luck!!! And I am sooo happy spring is almost here! Sooo many new and familiar smells out there! This is only my second spring ever!
Welcome everyone! I am so excited to have a website posted for me! I think my tail is going wag right off. This is a good as getting a whole bag of treats and "good girl Gerties
